SCOOTER PROJECT

AJUSA has developed the full Balance of Plant to replace the batteries of a standard electric engine scooter with a PEM Fuel Cell system, aiming to obtain speed performance, loading capacity, and range, similar to those of the original scooter.

It is remarkable that it is the first time a scooter is developed in Spain with a Spanish manufactured Fuel Cell. Both the researching activity and the engineering process of PEM Fuel Cell and the Balance of Plant have been fully developed within AJUSA’s facilities. The Fuel Cell used for this project is an air cooled, 1000W FC010 model.

The air supply system is continuous forced flow by means of a compressor. The incoming air has an auto adjustable humidifying system.

Hydrogen is supplied from two metal hydride tanks which allow a range of 45 km. Those tanks can be refilled with Hydrogen at low pressure, and can be easily replaced opening a receptacle in the back of the bodywork.

The developed Fuel Cell Scooter, reaches a speed of 10 km/h, and has a loading capacity of 100 kg.

The whole Balance of Plant is controlled by a microprocessor, which works automatically to optimize the performance of the PEM Fuel Cell.
